Another Decent Demento Collection
The age of the internet and a la carte music sales has made compilation albums a bit of a tough sell nowadays. However this Dr. Demento collection does do a good job of putting together a pretty good collection of obscure and hard to find comedy bits, songs and parodies. Some of the songs are newer and can be found elsewhere, but a good many of the songs are classic bits long lost before the digital revolution. As with anything presented by Dr. Demento the comedy is pretty tame, but good for a few chuckles here and there. I look at this set as being the other half of his 20th anniversary set that he didn't have room for. A worthy purchase for a novelty song collector, or someone looking for mild humor, but not much more then that.

Dr. Demento's best
Great collection of songs played on the Dr. Demento show over the years. My favorites include 'Shaving Cream', 'Cause I'm a Blonde', 'My Dead Dog Rover', 'No, I Don't Wanna Do Dat' and 'Star Drek'. C'mon, embrace your inner nerd and order this CD!

Classic tunes
The songs are great, with a mix of modern (e.g. Weird Al), and classic hits (such those old K-tel classics from childhood).

Fun but a Little Disappointing
I liked this 2 CD set, but I think I overpaid. There are many cute older type tunes on the discs as well as some newer ones. I would say I liked about one in four songs. Do not buy this item just for one song!

SCHLOCK & ROLL!
The King of Kitsch, Kraziness and all things Kooky deftly rounds up an asylum-full of novelty nincompoops, just as on his long running weekly syndicated radio show. If you like this sort of thing (and who, short of the deceased, doesn't?), the spoils are almost embarrassingly endless here. Weird Al Yankovic (a Dr. Demento apprentice) jump-starts the fun with one of his best song titles (and parodies) ever, SMELLS LIKE NIRVANA. Then there's that timeless tribute to everyone's fave knucklehead, THE CURLY SHUFFLE...Trekkie wet dream HIGHLY ILLOGICAL from Leonard ("I am not...ahhh, the HELL with it! I really AM spock!") Nimoy, not to mention Bobby "Boris" Pickett's spot-on satire STAR DREK...TIMOTHY, The Buoys' macabre ode to cannibalism (penned by Rupert PINA COLADA SONG Holmes)...Brownsvile Station's twisted blues-clashes-with-sci-fi feast MARTIAN BOOGIE...Da Yoopers' hilarious stinker SECOND WEEK OF DEER CAMP...Meri Wilson's double entendre delight PETER THE METER READER...The Chips' original gobbledygook version of the Blues Brothers-associated RUBBER BISCUIT...even the rare as a porkpie hat SONG OF THE SEWER, courtesy one Art "Ed Norton" Carney, fer cryin' (laughin'?) out loud!!! Sicko oldtimers Tiny Tim, Spike Jones and Demento regular Benny Bell also share space with artists as diverse as folkie Christine Lavin and gross-out rockers Green Jelly, keeping the fun/pain threshold at an excrutiatingly high level.
