Everyone has their own system when it comes to mopping up a spilled mug of hot chocolate on the impractical, but beautiful ecru carpeting. Maybe they begin by dispensing half a roll of paper towels to absorb the excess liquid, then apply the carpet cleaner of choice, dab ferociously, and so on. Problem solved perhaps, but often the manual scrubbing actually pushes filth deeper into the carpet, further embedding it. Even if the chocolate color has been eradicated, the unpleasant aroma of spoiled milk may still arise. To fully eliminate stains, Bissell created their clever SpotLifter 2X carpet cleaner. The 9.6v cleaner uses a combination of aggressive brush agitation and powerful suction to actually lift spots up and out of the carpet. Ideal for attacking fresh spills or unsightly pet accidents, the handheld vacuum leaves the carpet looking as if Coco never left her owners a stinky present there.

To use the SpotLifter 2X, users fill the cleaner's back tank with cleaning formula and clean water. After spraying the soiled area, apply the deluxe brush to the area and switch the power button on. The brush begins to scrub at the carpet while the suction lifts debris and dirty water up into the front collection tank. The cleaner covers a 7-inch path. After the carpet has been thoroughly cleaned, a release button enables easy collection tank removal for disposal and a quick rinse out. The SpotLifter 2X is a cordless cleaning tool for convenient transportation. The batteries must be charged for 24 hours before the cleaner's first use. After use, the cleaner will best operate after fully recharging over 12 hours. The cleaner runs at full power for approximately 15 minutes per use. We love our spot lifter
This is great for picking up the stains our kids and cats make. It has been a life saver for us. The only down fall it has is the limited running time. If you have a lot of stains at once it can run out of power and it takes hours to fully recharge and you can not run it while plugged in. But other than that we have no complaints. For all the positives it is worth this negative. :)

Does what it's supposed to do
I have an older cat who eats too fast and then pukes up gross yellow/orange clumps of catfood all over my beige carpet. All I wanted was a spot cleaner so I didn't have to lug out the big whole room cleaner, and this one is perfect for that. Don't expect it to be anything more than what it is --a SPOT cleaner -- and you won't be disappointed. I only recently got it so I don't know how long it'll last, but for the price it's really quite perfect.

Great for small clean-ups
I have a sick cat who vomits on occasion. This Bissell cleaner is perfect for cleaning up the mess. It's small, easy to use, and easy to clean. The only downfall is the relatively short battery life. I wish it had an option to run it off a cord if needed. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't trade this in for a corded version. The ability to quickly grab the cleaner and clean up a spill on the stairs, or a couch is great. Overall, a good purchase.

Every cat should come with one of these
We have two cats that loose their lunch on a regular basis. You know that blotting doesn't get the liquid down in the carpet. I wanted something that would do more than surface cleaning and would be handy enough that I would pull it out right when I needed it. I choose this spot cleaner over the others available because:

* It is small and doesn't require any set up and minimal clean up
* Brush only if you want to. Brushing will just push the mess down further so I don't use it.

It works great for this. Other comments:

The battery lasts long enough - I haven't run out of battery yet. The suction is fine, not like a full carpet cleaner, but it gets the gunk out. The waste container doesn't hold much; the fill line is less than 1/2" up. This is just enough for its intended purpose. People who have had liquid spray out the motor might have let it get over full. My biggest complaint is that the waste container doesn't open all the way, you have just a small drain plug (plus the other openings) to rinse it clean. If you had something sticky in there it would be nearly impossible to get out. One small nit is the water/cleaning tank is overly complicated to fill. You take it out, turn it over, unscrew a ring, and pull out a plug. No big deal, but a simple cap would have been better.

I can't speak to spilled drinks, mud, or anything else, but for my pet messes it is the right tool for the job.

A lifesaver!
I got this machine a few months ago for my white carpet/dog&cat stain issues and I can't stop raving about it. It's extremely easy to use, and I'm very impressed with how quickly I'm able to remove the soapy water tank, fill it and put it on, and remove and empty the dirty water tank. A five year old could do it! It is very good at removing stains, both old and new, and it completely removes pee spots on the carpet in minutes without me even having to touch anything or waste papper towels, and leaving the carpet looking and smelling like new. It even removed heavy, long term staining in the heavy traffic areas of my white carpet, so I have already saved on professional cleaning. I had been calling in the pros to clean the whole carpet when it was only soiled in a few areas. Now I just use my little machine every few weeks, and I'll call in the pros once a year. The suction and battery life are excellent, too, and I'm able to run it for at least 15 min. at a time, long enough to thoroughly clean about a 2x2 foot area. Then I store it with the cleaning fluid in it, all ready for the next spill. I don't know how I ever lived without it, and for the price, it's a steal.
